Mayor's Office of Economic Opportunity

The Mayor’s Office of Economic Opportunity acts to ensure all Angelenos have the chance to secure a job, earn a decent paycheck, escape poverty and homelessness, and share in our City’s prosperity and growth. Under the Mayor’s leadership, we are pursuing our goals by lifting the minimum wage, promoting housing stability and affordability, leading workforce development programs, and ensuring our veterans have a place to work and live. We also coordinate the Mayor’s campaign to end homelessness — the greatest moral and humanitarian crisis of our time — through innovative strategies to address the health and safety needs of unsheltered residents; to put a roof over the heads of every resident; and to secure the best economic protection of all: access to a sustainable job that pays enough to cover the rent and basic necessities.
